Here at Innermost, we only use natural, research-backed and quality products in our products and supplementations. And when it comes to The Recover Capsules, this ethos is no different. Packed with a range of effective nutrients to maximise recovery and enhance overall health and wellness, one of the main ingredients in The Recover Capsules is Vitamin D.

Boasting a range of health benefits, Vitamin D is vital for normal functioning. But what is it, where do we find it, and what are the advantages of taking supplementations that contain it, you ask?  We’ve got all the answers, as always, of course.

We’ve got the low-down on all things Vitamin D.

There’s a reason as to why we included it in our supplementations, after all.

What is Vitamin D?

Vitamin D is a type of vitamin that is found both in natural food sources (more on this later, of course) and within the body.

What is Vitamin D good for?

It’s a fat-soluble vitamin which helps the body in a number of ways, with two of the main forms of assistance is in the retention of calcium and levels of phosphorus, both of which are incredibly important for bone health.

What are the main Vitamin D benefits?

Like we said, when it comes to Vitamin D benefits, it’s pretty clear that Vitamin D is the bomb. The benefits are extensive and impressive, and for that reason, we definitely recommend that everyone takes a supplementation to enhance their levels of Vitamin D, and ensures that their diet is well-rounded to make this happen, too.

Some of the top Vitamin D benefits include:

  • Aids in muscle recovery
  • Maintains healthy bone health
  • Promotes healthy teeth
  • Supports healthy cardiovascular functioning
  • Aids in the maintenance of a healthy nervous system
  • Supports immune system health
  • Promotes brain health

The best sources of Vitamin D

When it comes to the top sources of Vitamin D, there is a healthy variety of foods high in Vitamin D, which means that if you think you’re suffering from a Vitamin D deficiency, it’s good news.

Aside from supplementations like The Recover Capsules, if you’re looking to increase your intake through your diet, it’d be a good idea to start increasing your consumption of the below.

Foods high in Vitamin D include:

  • Eggs
  • Beef
  • Types of oily fish (think sardines)
  • Fortified foods
  • Dairy products
  • Mushrooms
  • Oranges
  • Spinach
  • Bananas

Foods high in Vitamin D aside, make sure you’re spending as much time as you can (and as is safe) in sunlight. If you live in a particularly grey part of the world, (we’re looking at you, fellow Londoners), a UV lamp is a great source, too.

How to know if you’re suffering from a lack of Vitamin D

Sometimes, when you’re suffering from symptoms that you perhaps haven’t experienced before, or are experiencing symptoms that could definitely be as a result of more than one thing (such as fatigue, for example), it can be pretty difficult to pin-point what you may be lacking.

If you think that you’re suffering from a lack of Vitamin D, or are suffering from any of the below symptoms, we definitely recommend that you consider adding Vitamin D supplementations to your routine, or increase your consumption of some of the above foods.

Symptoms of a lack of Vitamin D include:

  • Ongoing or increased fatigue
  • Mood swings and changes
  • Muscle pain
  • Muscle cramping
  • Bone pain
  • Hair loss
  • Back pain
  • A notable increase in the contraction of illnesses like the common cold

Of course, as always, it’s also important to note that if you are experiencing new symptoms, or are suffering from these, get in touch with your Doctor. After all, when it comes to your health, don’t take any risks. They always know best.

It’s important to keep an eye on these things, as Vitamin D can lead to broken bones, and particularly in children, something pretty nasty called rickets.

Summary

All in all, it’s clear that Vitamin D is a pretty important vitamin to include in your diet. Once again, it’s Innermost here urging you to maintain that well-rounded, healthy and balanced diet. And of course, our supplementations can help you with that, too!
