What is it?
Cellulite is the result of fat cells pressing up against the connective tissue under the skin. Imagine it as fat cells trying to push through fishnet tights. As they push, the fat cells bulge and this causes the dimpled effect. Cellulite can occur anywhere where fat is stored, but is commonly seen on the thighs and bottoms. Although cellulite sucks, there are some things that you can do to reduce its appearance. Read on to find out more:
1. Melt fat away
Cellulite is a type of fat, and the best way to get rid of fat is to burn it off. Doing intense cardio like HIIT training can melt fat, whilst strength training can help you tone up. Focus on problem areas like your glutes, core and hamstrings to boost smoothness. Be patient because fat melting is a marathon and not a sprint. Don’t lose motivation and keep at it. 2. Eat healthy
Eating a balanced diet can helps you maintain a healthy weight. Eating nutrient and fibre rich fruits and vegetables, lean proteins and whole grains can help to reduce fat and improve the skins appearance. Don’t fear healthy fats like avocados and olive oil because they contain omega 3 fatty acids which boost the metabolism and are essential for toned and healthy skin. Take a look at The Health One (Blend No.3) and The Health Plus (Booster No.3) if you need a helping hand. Both products come conveniently packaged in The Health Collection.
3. Boost circulation
Dermatologists say that cellulite can be exacerbated by poor circulation. Although circulation is primarily genetic (thank your parents for that one), you can boost your blood flow by being more active, getting regular massages, and stretching daily.
Keeping hydrated can reduce the appearance of lumpy skin. Drinking lots of fluids every day can improve the texture and tone of your skin by keeping your skin cells healthy, and promoting toxin removal. Aim to drink at least 8 glasses of water every day. Carrying a bottle with you as you go about your day. If you’re working out, rehydrating becomes even more important. Consider The Fit One (Blend No.2), which is packed with electrolytes, and has been created to help replenish and rehydrate following sweaty workouts.
5. Get your beauty sleep
We all know how important sleep is for helping us to get through the day, but sleep has other benefits which may include cellulite reduction. Aromatherapy can help relax the body and relieves stress to boost sleep. Aim for at least seven hours sleep every night to maintain overall health and wellbeing.
